Running for a Cause: Sam Webb's Inspiring London Marathon Journey
At David Webb Engineering, we're incredibly proud to celebrate one of our own who recently completed an extraordinary challenge that goes far beyond the workshop floor. Last month, our very own Sam Webb laced up his running shoes and conquered the 26.2 miles of the 2025 TCS London Marathon, all in aid of a cause close to his heart.
A Marathon Achievement with Heart
Sam took on this monumental challenge as part of TeamTorri, running to raise vital funds for Children with Cancer UK—a charity whose vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer. The cause held special significance for Sam, as Torri was a young girl who was a huge part of the dance studios where two of his children have had such happy times.
"I am honoured to be running as part of TeamTorri," Sam shared on his fundraising page. "I hope to do them proud—I'd be delighted if you could sponsor me to help raise much needed money for this cause đź’ś"
Record-Breaking Fundraising Success
The 2025 London Marathon proved to be a record-breaking event, raising over £75 million for charities—setting a new world record for an annual one-day fundraising event. TeamTorri's contribution to this incredible total was remarkable, with the team collectively raising an impressive £26,938.50 for Children with Cancer UK.
Sam's personal contribution to this total was outstanding—he successfully raised
£4,000 through the generous support of colleagues, friends, family, and the local community. This achievement demonstrates not only Sam's dedication to the cause but also the incredible generosity of those who supported him.
More Than Just a Run
For Sam, this wasn't simply about completing a marathon; it was about making a real difference to children and families facing the unimaginable challenge of childhood cancer. Children with Cancer UK has been working tirelessly for over 35 years to fund much-needed research into childhood cancer, striving every day to increase awareness and understanding of cancer in children and young people.
Team Spirit at David Webb Engineering
Sam's achievement reflects the values we hold dear at David Webb Engineering—dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to supporting our community. Just as we take pride in delivering quality agricultural equipment like our Polaris ATV Range to help land management professionals maintain their fields and trails, we're equally proud when our team members go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others.

Looking Forward
Sam's marathon journey serves as an inspiration to us all, showing that with determination and community support, we can achieve remarkable things both in our professional lives and in service to causes that matter.
We'd like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Sam for this incredible achievement and thank everyone who supported him along the way. Your generosity has contributed to vital research that could help save young lives.
